Nesta quadra, mais quadrados. Provem-nos errados, OS POSITIVOS têm duas menções de respeito a ignorar em compêndios de história da BD portuguesa. São o mais longo zine de comics ´tugas em produção regular (por mais irregular que essa seja, ie, zines!, desde '97 que estamos por cá, não fomos e voltámos de sítio algum), e encontram-nos na leva dos primeiros comics portugueses a surgir online, provavelmente, garantidamente a mais antiga BD nacional hoje na web (*) No Wayback Machine vão até 17 nov 1999 mas cremos que estávamos no Terravista um pouco antes disso.. Para merecer o primeiro, fizemos o que as baratas fazem: persistimos apesar dos esforços. Para o segundo, foi-nos sorte & saber a intuição que este era um meio ainda pela metade. Martelámos diversas vezes essa tecla por via da universalidade dum canal de comunicação sem gatekeepin' e custos de produção / distribuição. Evidente então, mas passaram-se mais de duas décadas e por cá as crianças ainda abrem as prendas com espanto, ou desinteresse.
A (re)pensar o dito, do zeitgeist desta semana: comics são e não são só para crianças. Propaganda, cultura e política ("there is explicit political rhetoric that will crop up in comics"), muitos outros e sobretudo Scott McCloud + web,
[Q] McCloud was spot on about the internet (...) We'll still have to wait and see about some of McCloud's more involved ideas like interactive comics. It will be interesting to see what develops in the coming years.
[A] With the internet, we keep trying different things. Will we read comics on our phones, one panel at a time, or on someone's newsletter? As you say, we don't really know what will shake out. And, as you point out, what we do know is that we now have this democratization effect. Anyone can put their comics on the web now. And, if you have millions of people grooving to your comics, that's going to matter and I think that's amazing. For all sorts of reasons, that was not the case for most of comics history.
